My friend and I were super hungry and decided to try Ramen-San around 5 pm on a Saturday. Despite it being the weekend, it wasn't too crowded, and we were able to get a walk-in seat without any wait, which was a pleasant surprise. We both ordered the kimchi and fried chicken ramen, and it exceeded our expectations. The broth was incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and the fried chicken added a delightful crunch and richness to the dish. It was one of the best ramen experiences we've had in a while. My friend also decided to try the pork bun, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the hype. She found it to be somewhat average and not as impressive as the ramen. The dessert menu looked very tempting, with several options that caught our eye. However, we were too full to try any this time. We'll definitely make sure to save some room for dessert on our next visit. Overall, Ramen-San provided a satisfying and delicious meal, and we look forward to returning soon.

Wanted a quick lunch and not many ppl at 11:40am at this location on a Tuesday. The express lunch was great value with a slightly smaller ramen , small rice with any main dish and I got chicken karrage, salad and pickled cucumbers. The other thing we got was a limited edition play on bacon and eggs in 10-hr tonkashu with a molten egg yolk and marinated egg. It was probably just a small mistake but the check forgot to put on both eggs... which is the best part but it was remedied quickly. Staff was attentive.

My friend from out of town, who loves ramen, visited recently, and we decided to try Ramen-San. It's a casual spot with fulfilling food, perfect for a relaxed meal. We started with yuzu sake and Asahi beer, which were both refreshing. For appetizers, we had the karaage chicken nuggets and spicy kimchi. The karaage was crispy and flavorful, a great start to our meal. For the main course, we ordered the fried chicken ramen, fried Brussels sprouts, and tan tan san ramen. The kimchi and fried chicken ramen was a delightful blend of flavors, and the tan tan san ramen had the perfect amount of spice. I was particularly surprised by how much I loved the fried Brussels sprouts; I'm not usually a fan, but these were exceptional. The service was quick and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and I definitely recommend Ramen-San for anyone looking for a cozy place with great ramen and a welcoming atmosphere.

Ramen San was a delightful place to dine in Chicago. We were sat down immediately in the spacious restaurant. The staff was helpful at explaining there menu items and gave us a warm welcome. The food was really good, I enjoyed the 10 hour Tonkutso very much. I ordered a lunch special at about $17 that came with a half bowl of ramen, white rice with a few pieces of steak, cucumber and vegetables, and a side salad. It was a great deal and almost like a ramen bento box!

Found this place out one night barhopping. There were a lot of people there so I thought I should check it out. This is a cute little place with plenty of tables outside and inside. So I would say don't worry about making reservation. People are in and out pretty quickly here. I ordered the sumo Ramen, which kinda came with everything. The bowl did not look intimidating at all. I thought I could finish this all by myself, but I was totally wrong. The portion is huge, definitely enough for two people. The broth was well seasoned. My favorite were the noodles. I definitely like my Ramen noodles al dente. They had a crunch to them which I loved. I also love the dumplings that came with the ramen. It was a really nice addition to the bowl. Overall, the entire bowl of Ramen definitely hit the spot. No

First thing I'll comment about is the interior design and how carefully tailored the experience is to the theme of the restaurant. My boyfriend was super happy about the music choice and the overhead speakers that he said we were made to deliver music to an audiences' ears. The vibes were definitely there :) The food itself was also good and I think it's well worth your money to get an Express Lunch set. The salad was refreshing, the salmon was delicious, and the tantan ramen was just enough to satisfy my craving. Although the menu says it is spicy, I think it was just enough to add some spice to it but not take away from the taste. The service was a little slower for the number of customers that were there (not too many) and time of the day, but maybe that plays into the ambiance. Still very attentive!

Over rated ramen spot with high reviews. The broths were mid. I got the kimchi and chicken it was unique. My friend got the tonkotsu and it was good. Nothing over the top but decent ramen. Too heavy on the corn compared to other veggies. Service- went on a wed evening and it was slow. Ambiance- great. Only downside is the bathrooms are shared genders and it was very dirty.

My main takeaways from Ramen San were less so about the food, but rather the environment. Ramen San does a good job of balancing the internal ambiance while also having an open store front that allows noise from the streets to mesh in. The food was pretty good, we had a bit longer of a wait but were also ordering around prime dinner time so that was to be expected. Overall great place, would definitely recommend to a group coming together but maybe not for individuals looking for a quiet time to enjoy food on your own.
